When you suspect a fever, it’s often difficult to get a restless toddler to stay still long enough to take a basal temperature--and you can forget about taking a rectal temperature. This super-fast ear thermometer offers the best solution, providing accurate and instant 1-second results. The thermometer has a soft sensor tip that is gentle and safe on little ears, and comes with 22 sensor covers for the tip (more available separately) for comfortable and accurate readings. With the power on, the thermometer beeps when ready. Parents simply insert the tip into an ear and press the scan button. Within a 1-second interval, the thermometer’s MultiScan technology reads infrared heat generated by the eardrum, and takes 12 readings. Those readings are instantly averaged and converted to an oral equivalent. The ear thermometer beeps once when the temperature has been recorded and is normal, and beeps several times in a row to indicate a fever over 99.5 degrees. The lighted display makes it easy to read results in a dark room. And, just in case you turned off the unit before getting the reading, the ear thermometer has a fever-tracking memory that recalls the last 12 temperatures taken, allowing you to monitor your child’s health through the duration of an illness. The thermometer has a protective cap when not in use, and stands up for easy storage in a medicine cabinet. Also included is an applicator for the sensor covers and two AAA batteries.
